Equipment

  • - Baking sheet
  • - Parchment paper
  • - Pastry brush
  • - Small mixing bowl
  • - Sharp knife
  • - Spatula

Materials

  • 4 croissants** Fresh or slightly stale for better crispiness
  • 8 slices of ham** Premium Option: Honey-glazed ham, Substitute: Turkey slices
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese** Substitute: Cheddar, Gruyère, or Provolone
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard** For a tangy kick, optional
  • 1 tablespoon honey** Balances flavors with a touch of sweetness
  • 2 tablespoons butter** Melted, for brushing
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds** Optional, for added texture

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Start by preheating your oven, ensuring it’s ready for your croissants once you assemble them.
  • Roll out the croissant dough.
  • Unroll your premade croissant dough and separate the pieces. If you’re using a large sheet of dough, cut it into equal-sized triangles.
  • Add ham and cheese.
  • Place a slice of ham and cheese on each triangle of dough. You can also spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard for added flavor.
  • Roll them up.
  • Starting at the wider end of the triangle, roll up each croissant carefully, making sure the cheese and ham stay inside.
  • Brush with butter.
  • Place each croissant on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with melted butter to give them a golden, crispy texture.
  • Bake.
